League of Church Loyalty: cards are now marked in the foyer.

 

3.00pm ‘Celebration of Life’ the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s annual service of worship in Fisherwick Presbyterian Church.

 

6.15pm Musica rehearsal for evening worship in the foyer.

 

7.00pm Evening Worship in foyer: conducted by Mr Graeme Fowles.

 


 

Monday 14th April

7.30pm. in the Rosetta Hall ‘Strictly Come Dancing’: continues every Monday in April you can learn to dance rumba, salsa, etc with Tony and Cath. Cost will be £3 to support work in Ethiopia. Come along and enjoy some exercise and good fun. Partners not mandatory!!

 

Wednesday 16th April

10.30am  Pins & Needles in the Cairns Room.

6.30pm  Minister’s Office Hour.

7.30pm  Autumn Fête Committee meeting in the Cairns Room.

 

Thursday 17th April

10.00am-12 noon: another collection of items for homeless immigrant workers under the umbrella of ‘Embrace’ in St Jude’s Hall, St Jude’s Crescent.  A list of suitable items can be found on the foyer notice board.

 

 


 

General

 

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Beaver’s Fireside Puzzle.  There were 25 bible verses in the paragraph, which 26 people correctly identified.  Three winners were drawn from the correct entries: 1st  - Irene Younge,  2nd - Laura Close,  3rd - Nathan Thompson.  The puzzle raised £115 which has been added to the £55 already raised through the tea/coffee after the Uniformed Youth Organisations’ Church Service on 24th February.  The Beaver Scouts have donated the total of £170 to the Halls Redevelopment Fund.

 

Sunday 20th April

St George’s Day Scout Parade to Saintfield Road Presbyterian Church.  Service begins at 3.00pm.

 

Thursday 24th April

Belfast City Mission: annual rally at 7.30pm in Church House.

 

Monday 28h April

8.00pm  Downshire Ladies Choir will be giving a concert in the St John’s Hall. Tickets £7.00.

 

Tuesday 29th April

Journey Towards Healing: (Churches’ Council for Health & Healing in Ireland): The Rev. Nigel Mumford, former soldier serving in Northern Ireland and left deeply traumatised, will talk about healing.  10.30am Church of St Philip & St James, Holywood;  8.00pm St Finian’s Church, Cregagh Road.

As a church we have the opportunity to show the love of Jesus in action by providing tea for groups of up to 50 people on the following dates: 24th and 31st May and 14th June.  If you could assist in any way (no matter how small) please contact Irene Younge.
